Description
Xanax 1mg (Alprazolam) is prescribed for generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), anxiety associated with depression, and panic disorder.
Xanax 1mg (Alprazolam) is in a class of drugs called benzodiazepines, and is available in several forms, including tablets, a liquid, disintegrating tablets, and extended-release tablets.
How to use Xanax
The recommended dose of alprazolam for adults varies depending on its use. The starting dose for excessive anxiety is 0.25 mg taken 2 or 3 times a day. This is gradually increased until anxiety is controlled and side effects are minimized. Elderly patients may be started at a lower dose of 0.125 mg taken 2 or 3 times a day.
The starting dose for panic attacks is 0.5 mg to 1 mg at bedtime or 0.5 mg taken 3 times daily. The dose is then gradually increased until there are no more panic attacks.

Side effects Xanax 1mg
Taking opioids and benzodiazepines together can result in extreme sleepiness, slowed or difficult breathing, coma.
Do not take Xanax if you’re allergic to alprazolam, any of the inactive ingredients in the medication, or other benzodiazepines, like Librium, Tranxene, Valium, Ativan, Serax, and others.
Xanax 1mg (Alprazolam) can make you drowsy and decrease your ability to drive safely or operate machinery. You may become particularly sleepy if Xanax is taken with other drugs that cause drowsiness, or if you’re elderly or debilitated.
Long-term abuse and addiction to Xanax is associated with depression, psychotic experiences, and aggressive or impulsive behavior, according to the Coalition Against Drug Abuse.
Most side effects with Xanax happen when first starting the medication and these usually go away.
Interactions
Some products that may interact with Xanax 1mg include: kava, sodium oxybate. Other medications can affect the removal of alprazolam from your body, which may affect how alprazolam works. Examples include azole antifungals (such as itraconazole, ketoconazole), cimetidine, certain anti-depressants (such as fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, nefazodone), drugs to treat HIV (delavirdine, protease inhibitors such as indinavir), macrolide antibiotics (such as erythromycin), rifamycins (such as rifabutin)
The risk of serious side effects (such as slow/shallow breathing, severe drowsiness/dizziness) may be increased if this medication is taken with other products that may also cause drowsiness or breathing problems. Check our stock of Anti-anxiety.
How Xanax 1mg Works?
Xanax 1mg provides fast relief of anxiety symptoms often seen in SAD and other anxiety disorders. It works specifically by binding to GABA receptors in your brain. This inhibits neuron activity (slows down your brain activity), and has the effect of reducing anxiety, fear, and feelings of terror—it might also leave you feeling sleepy, relaxed, and calm. Typically, you will start to feel the effects of taking Xanax within 15 to 20 minutes, and they will wear off in about six hours. Some medecines like desoxyn can help also.
